China International Alcoholic Beverage Expo

From 9th to 12th of September Quinta do Convento are showcasing our Wines at Guizhou on 3rd edition of China International Alcoholic Beverage Expo.

Quinta do Convento "Top of the Top"

The results of 2013 contest just came out and again Quinta do Convento was far the Portuguese producer who won the highest number of gold medals and additionally the "Wines of Lisbon Trophy 2013"!

The 12 wines we produced between 2004 and 2008, now have 10 CWSA medals: 3 Double Gold, 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze and we haven’t sent to the contest the other 2 wines!

Over 100 judges from Greater China (Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China) attended to determine though a blind taste potential wines suited best to the mainland China wine market.   The judges comprised of Greater China’s most influential wine and spirits buyers, distributors, food and beverage directors and sommeliers who tasted their way through 3,300 wines and spirits from 25 countries in one of Hong Kong’s largest and most anticipated competitions of the year. 

Only about 6,6% of the wines got medals. All QUINTA DO CONVENTO wines were considered top 10% of those.

Congress commemorating the 750 years of D.Dinis

By invitation of Quinta do Convento, the master Maria João de Albuquerque from St.Petersburg Academy will present a paper regarding King D.Dinis and Vila Verde dos Francos. This presentation will take place in the Portuguese Geographic Society and celebrates the 750 th birth of King D.Dinis.

Quinta do Convento gets Gold Medal in Luso

Last Saturday at Selezione La del Sindaco competition the AMPV (Association of Portuguese Wine Municipalities), Quinta do Convento represented by Dra.Cristina de Albuquerque, Quinta do Convento manager received from Dr.João Herminio (Alenquer delegate) this 90 points gold medal related to Merlot-Touriga Nacional 2005 a rubi full-bodied red wine boasts the use of Merlot and Touriga Nacional for black berries and raspberries exceptional fragrance and distinctive bouquet. The palate reveals an excellent structure with good complexity and a lengthy, vibrant finish. A perfect blend of acidity and elegant tannins make the wine a perfect match with games and any meat.
