More Gold Medals

Two DOUBLE GOLD medals for "RESERVA 2005" and "MERLOT-TOURIGA NACIONAL 2005" and two GOLD medals  for "RESERVA 2004" and "Regional 2005" were the outstanding results obtained in CWSA 2012 contest.

"RESERVA 2005" won the LISBOA TROFY in HONG KONG being the highest score wine for LISBOA region (PORTUGAL)  (march 2013)

Wine Tour
Quinta do Convento integrates the Alenquer Wine Tour, an official touristic itinerary with cultural and gastronomic character, centered in the wine passion.
 

The activity at the chateau of QUINTA DO CONVENTO, with its 16-ectare vineyard estate in Lisboa region, includes mostly wine production under the Quinta do Convento de Nossa Senhora da Visitação brand. These long lived and elegant wines delight wine lovers due to their genuine taste and fragment aromas, and they all have in common an excellent quality, being always exclusively produced from the finest harvest grapes.
 

An exceptional terroir!

The 16 hectares of vineyards of Quinta do Convento, produce high quality wines which are marketed under the brand Quinta do Convento de Nossa Senhora da Visitação. They are distinguished by high longevity and soft elegance and delight lovers of wines for their taste and genuine primary aromas.

Quinta do Convento has always been a legendary Alenquer (Lisbon)  wine. It is deep ruby-red, crimson, and sometimes almost black colour and has a characteristic bouquet of black fruit (especially blackberry), as well as fig, vanilla, cedar, and sometimes cocoa overtones. Quinta do Convento red wine combines power and elegance, as well as concentration and fullness on the palate. Rather sinewy in style, Quinta do Convento clearly a classical wine with a tannic structure that provides excellent ageing potential. 


The white wine produced at Quinta do Convento is citric colored having gold and green reflexes,  and  is characterized by a exquisite aromatic nose with notes of honey, nuts, citrus fruits and some toast.

In the mouth it evidences complexity with balanced acidity, conferring the wine a pleasant and persistent finishing.

The château team is conscious of the fact that they are following footsteps of more than five centuries of tradition, each period contributing whit technical innovations in the interest of quality and in order to  faithfully reflect the terroir.

In spite the young  vineyards, Quinta do Convento wines history and wine making tradition, are the living proof that only very demanding selection, and dedication along the entire process, may achieve great wines.


REGIONAL LISBOA

This ruby medium-bodied red wine exhales a nice aroma of well ripen red fruits, some mint and oak blend. The mature tannins, well balanced acidity and good structure emphasis a delicate medium length aftertaste. This wine is made from Tinta Roriz, Pinot Noir, Caladoc and Tinta Barroca grapes, which are separately vinified and afterwards blended in french and american wood 225 litters barrels, where they stay for a 6 month period.

MONO AND BIVARIETAIS

Due being under the presence of a true "terroir", conditions to product exceptional varietal wines are gathered. Exalting the best of each variety is only achieved as vinification is undertaken separately for each variety, and only in years.

RESERVA

“Reserva” wine, is a regulated terms controlled by law and impliesa higher quality standart, and that it was made from a rated vintage. This full-bodied wine, made from the varieties Touriga Nacional and Shyrah, comes in a deep ruby red color . From the nose notes, well ripen black berries, spices and French oak smoothness perfect blend stands out . An adequate acidity and some stiff but well balanced tannins denotes this wine special capacity have a very long life span, needing some time to exhale all its potential.

REGIONAL LISBOA

This wine has found the perfect harmony between the Portuguese and French varieties.. The complex note of minerality and tropicality with the toast of fermentation and aging in french oak gives an exquisite aromatic nose notes. The acidity confers a refreshing feeling with a soft buttered also revealed a medium and long aftertaste.
