Our Company

We are recognized as an SME  Companies Group Agriculture Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development since October 31, 1997, pursuant to Decree-Law No. 336/89 of 4 October.

From the legal point of view  « Sociedade Agricola da Quinta do Convento da Visitação »  is a limited liability company,   operated by family members in order to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations who jointly owns and controls it.

The «Sociedade Agrícola da Quinta do Convento» in accordance to principles that ensure that only land preservation and wealth management, will provide us their valuable resources, manages:

 

 
woodland resources of about 2 000 hectares certified by the FSC ® - Forest Stewardship Council, a certification scheme which guarantees that the management of the company's forests is environmentally, economically and socially responsible, meeting strict, internationally recognized standards;
  an average livestock  over 400 cows in extensive basis regime,  in compliance with environmental standards and regulations;

the Touristic Hunting Area of Tapada da Torrebela with 1200 hectares Management includes a wide range of technical actions, from  populations birth control, preserving and improving animal  habitat conditions, to  food supply if needed, according to the biodiversity conservation purposes;


16 hectares of vineyards in order to produce  high quality state wines, respecting the terroir as well as most ancient wine producing traditions;
